Nokia N98

The Nokia N98 is probably the first conscious effort Nokia have made to release a phone that they believe will compete head-to-head with Apple’s iPhone and the Blackerry Storm.

However, is the Nokia N98 real or fake?

Nokia haven’t released any information on this phone and aren’t planning to either. A few rumours are flying around the internet but looking at the photo, it appears to be a very good photoshop image and looking at the spec, it just looks like the Nokia N96 plus a bit more.

We’re on the hunt for more information on the so-called Nokia N98, so check back soon to see how we get on.

In the meantime, have a look at our Nokia reviews for the Nokia N96 and Nokia N97, both of which are very real.

Then there are all the other Nokia phone reviews we have too .. choices, choices – enjoy!

The word is out that Nokia comes with a new state-of-the-art concept at the end of year 2007. The N98 concept photo reveals a huge touch screen display of the N series 16th model. The preliminary photos show major similarities with iPhone, but the prototype is most likely Nokia 8600.

The few accessible information sources state that N98 runs a Symbian S70 3rd edition software platform and benefits from a series of impressing features: 3,5 Inch touchscreen, graphics accelerator, 7,2 Megapixels camera with Carl Zeiss optics.

To all these marvelous features, the GPS module inherited form the N95 will also be added.

Some of the specs:
- 7.2 megapixels camera, obviously with Carl Zeiss lens;
- 5x optical zoom (20x digital zoom);
- 3.5″ inches touch screen;
- GPS module;
- TNT module (Télévision Numérique Terrestre - or- TV broadcast);
- Symbian 3RD edition;
- 3D grafics accelerator;
- Wi-Fi(b,g,n);
- video recording at 720×576 and 30 frames per second;
- HSDPA;
- Multimedia Suport;

5x optical zoom is under the expectancies of the camera. It is pretty sure that N98 will use microSD memory cards, although this is not mentioned, and its battery charging cycle will last about 12h.
